Cristina Fontanelli – Two Upcoming Shows

Award-winning singer Cristina Fontanelli will be performing two upcoming shows in New York City. On Sunday, May 12th, she will star in an International Salute to Mother’s Day at Symphony Space (Thalia Theater), located at 2537 Broadway at 95th Street in Manhattan, where she will perform songs in several languages, Broadway favorites and will feature dance by Andrew Jannetti. At the show, she will introduce Anthony J. Matson as the young show’s artist; soprano Elena Heimur; the children of Katya’s School of Dance, plus numerous performing guests. On Thursday, June 6th, Feinstein’s/54 Below, Broadway’s Supper Club, will present Cristina in “A Tree Grows in Brooklyn.” The 7:00 pm show brings the singer back by popular demand after her highly successful debut show “Love Italian Style.” The singer and PBS-TV host transports her audience to her roots and birthplace in Brooklyn, New York – tracing her life and career through song.  A Feinstein’s at the Regency regular, Cristina will thrill her audience performing Hollywood favorites ranging from “With a Song in My Heart” and “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” to Italian favorites, Neapolitan classics and Sinatra tunes. Accompanied by her trio, the singer will also be performing songs from Broadway shows including A Little Night Music, a tribute to Ethel Merman and Andrew Lloyd Weber favorites. Cristina’s accomplishments include hosting Andrea Bocelli: Live in Central Park, also starring Celine Dion, David Foster and Tony Bennett; “Il Volo Takes Flight” for PBS-TV and for the 2019 Michael Buble Tour Stop special. Cristina is the voice of Domino’s Pizza on their national radio commercial and the voice of “Nonna” for PBS TV Chef Lidia Bastianich’s Christmas special. She headlined a sold-out Christmas show at Carnegie Hall last year and was awarded Best Actress award at the Cutting Room International Film Festival in 2018, for her comedic role in the film “Santino.”

She also has sung title roles with the Palm Beach Opera, the Cairo Opera and many more and shared the stage with some of the popular giants of the industry, including Tony Bennett, Joel Grey, the Boston Pops, St. Louis Symphony and completed three world-tours with the Mantovani Orchestra. Cristina was invited by the Italian government as a Distinguished Artist in the World of Pugliese descent to sing at the European Music Conference “MEDIMEX.”  She has performed at the White House as part of President Clinton’s holiday celebration; at the 2005 Stars and Stripes Inaugural Ball for President George W. Bush and received the Lifetime Achievement Award in the Arts from the Order Sons of Italy in America, among many other awards.

Cristina produces and stars in her 16 year-running Christmas in Italy® show which will take place on Sunday, December 8th at 3:00 pm at Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall and on Sunday, September 8th at Guild Hall (East Hampton, NY) as star of Opera and Broadway of the Hamptons.
