Planning a romantic dinner this Valentine’s Day? Great drinks can complement your meal and give you a chance to impress with your cocktail skills. Prosecco makes an appearance in many of these drinks, as do many of the “love” foods, like chocolate and strawberries.
Have fun with the cocktails you create with embellishments that fit the mood. Carve fruit into heart shapes or garnish with chocolate covered strawberries. Your Valentine is sure to fall in love with these tasty beverages.
Rossini
Ingredients
- 1 oz puréed strawberries
- 3 oz chilled Prosecco
- 1 fresh strawberry, sliced, to garnish
Preparation
Pour strawberry purée into a chilled champagne glass and top with Prosecco. Garnish glass with fresh strawberry.
Cranberry Amaretto Kiss
Serves 8
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup whole cane sugar
- 2 cups unsweetened cranberry juice
- 1 cup vodka
- 1/2 cup Amaretto
- 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
Preparation
Whisk whole cane sugar and ¼ cup water in a small saucepan over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat. Mix cranberry juice, vodka, amaretto, orange juice and 6 tablespoons of sugar syrup in a pitcher and stir. Chill in the refrigerator. Pour into Martini glasses and serve cold.
Un Giorno in Paradiso
Ingredients
- 1 bottle chilled Prosecco
- 1/2 oz Limoncello
- 1/2 oz vodka
- 1/2 oz Aperol
- dash of grenadine for color
- Maraschino cherry
Preparation
In a shaker of ice, pour Limoncello, vodka and Aperol and shake for 20 seconds. Pour this medley into a tall fluted glass. Fill the rest of the glass with Prosecco. Add a touch of grenadine and stir gently. Drop a maraschino cherry into the glass.
Pretty in Pink
Ingredients
- 2 oz vodka
- 1 oz simple syrup
- 1 oz lemon juice
- 1 spoonful of blackberry jam
- splash of Prosecco
Preparation
Add all ingredients except the Prosecco into a shaker and vigorously shake for a few seconds. Strain mixture over ice in a rocks glass. Top with Prosecco.
Red Hot
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 parts Martini and Rossi vermouth (chilled)
- 1 part cherry juice
- 4 parts Prosecco
Preparation
In a shaker, combine the vermouth and cherry juice with ice. Shake and strain into a chilled glass. Top with the Prosecco.
Blushing Lady
Ingredients
- 2 oz vodka
- 1 oz PAMA Pomegranate Liqueur
- 1 oz pink grapefruit juice
- Raspberry for garnish
- Coarse sugar for the rim
Preparation
Rub a wedge of lemon around the rim of a cocktail glass and dip the glass into a plate of coarse sugar. Set it aside.
Pour the remaining ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and strain into the prepared glass. Garnish with a raspberry.
