Planning a romantic dinner this Valentine’s Day? Great drinks can complement your meal and give you a chance to impress with your cocktail skills. Prosecco makes an appearance in many of these drinks, as do many of the foods associated with love and romance, such as chocolate and strawberries.
Have fun with the cocktails you create with embellishments that fit the mood. Carve fruit into heart shapes; garnish with chocolate covered strawberries or heart shaped cinnamon hearts. Your Valentine is sure to fall in love with these tasty beverages.
Rossini
Ingredients
- 1 oz puréed strawberries
- 3 oz chilled Prosecco
- 1 fresh strawberry, sliced, to garnish
Preparation
Pour strawberry purée into a chilled champagne glass and top with Prosecco. Garnish glass with fresh strawberry.
Italian Kiss with Baci
Ingredients
- shot of espresso
- ½ oz vodka
- ½ oz dark chocolate liqueur
- 1/4 oz Amaretto
- ¼ ox coffee liqueur
- 1 crushed Baci candy
Preparation
Shake ingredients with ice. Rim the glass with shaved chocolate. Strain cocktail and top with whipped cream and cocoa.
Flower Bomb
Ingredients
- ¾ oz pomegranate juice
- ¾ oz St. Germain elderflower liqueur
- Prosecco
Preparation
Mix together the juice and liqueur and pour into a champagne flute, then top with Prosecco.
Pretty in Pink
Ingredients
- 2 oz vodka
- 1 oz simple syrup
- 1 oz lemon juice
- 1 spoonful of blackberry jam
- splash of Prosecco
Preparation
Add all ingredients except wine to a shaker and shake vigorously for a few seconds. Strain mixture over ice in a rocks glass. Top with Prosecco.
Red Hot
Ingredients
1 ½ parts Martini and Rossi Rosso vermouth (chilled)
1 part cherry juice
4 parts Prosecco
Preparation
Combine the vermouth and cherry juice, along with ice, in a shaker. Shake and strain into a chilled glass. Top with the Prosecco.
Blushing Lady
Ingredients
2 oz vodka
1 oz PAMA Pomegranate Liqueur
1 oz pink grapefruit juice
Raspberry for garnish
Coarse sugar for rimming
Preparation
Rub a wedge of lemon around the rim of a cocktail glass and dip the glass into a plate of coarse sugar. Set it aside. Pour the remaining ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and strain into the prepared glass. Garnish with a raspberry.
