Sal Richards is what showbiz calls a natural. “Point me toward the stage, put the light on and if they laugh, I’m happy,” says the veteran entertainer.
The native Brooklynite was born Salvatore Giovi and built his career bringing uproarious laughter to sellout crowds in Las Vegas and Atlantic City. He sings, does comedy, impressions and has a gift for ad libs that is legendary in the industry. He is also known as one of the funniest men in show business.
Proving that the apple does not fall far from the tree, his son Guy started in show business at the ripe old age of seven. His first gig was in front of an audience of 3,000 at the Concord Hotel in the Catskill Mountains, doing his impression of Tom Jones singing “Delilah.” Guy has a one of a kind style, full of high-energy comedy. His impressions, charisma and personality are infectious. He sings, he dances and when he performs, audiences are in for a whacky roller coaster ride; laughing and crying at the same time.
Sal and Guy are now together on a nation-wide comedy tour. Together, the two Richards will bring their comedy and musical show “Like Father – Like Son” to Staten Island on Friday, January 18 at 7:30 pm, when they will perform at Lorenzo’s Restaurant, Bar and Cabaret in the Staten Island Hilton.
