The abandoned and sometimes forgotten San Filippino Chapel located in Castiglion Fiorentino, Tuscany, is now among the sites to be considered by the World Monuments Fund (WMF), a global organization dedicated to conserving the world’s irreplaceable treasures. San Filippino made it to the final stages of a multi-layered selection process undertaken by WMF for its 2018 Watch List. The process involves intense scrutiny by internal, external and international committees. Only one site per country was chosen for the 2018 Watch List. For Italy, the WMF selected earthquake-stricken Amatrice for 2018.
