For the first time ever, Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish in Newark, New Jersey, will include a designer purse auction as part of its bingo and tricky tray fundraiser. For those uninitiated in designer purse actions, the first thing that you should know is that they are a lot of fun to both participate in and to watch! You will see many ladies’ eyes light up as the handbag available for bidding are revealed. In addition to having the chance to bid on these latest fashionable bags, you are helping a very worthy cause.
This year’s auction will be held on Friday, June 8th at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 256 Oliver Street in the Ironbound section of Newark. Parking is available and doors will open at 5:30 pm., with bingo beginning at 7:00 pm. Guests are encouraged to bring food and refreshments and enjoy a wonderful evening with family and friends.
The cost is $25 per person and includes 12 games of bingo (3 boards per game), coffee, tea and dessert. Extra boards and daubers may also be purchased. The event will also feature a 50/50, a variety of tricky tray raffles and of course, the designer purse auction.
