Nutley Holds a Remembrance Ceremony in Honor of 9/11 Victims

Township of Nutley Director, Alphonse Petracco has announced plans to hold a remembrance ceremony for victims of the 2001 terrorist attack on Tuesday, September 11th at 10:00 am. The ceremony will take place at the 9/11 monument site, located in front of the Nutley Township Hall. Residents are invited to join Township officials, victim’s families, friends and clergy in remembering those who perished that day. Among those lost were three Nutley residents, Lt. Robert Cirri, Frank LaLama and Dorota Kopiscko.

In addition, Township residents are asked to display a lighted candle on their front porch, or an electric candle in a window between the hours of 8:00 pm and 10:00 pm on September 11th. Residents are also encouraged to display an American flag in front of their homes to show united support against the war on terrorism. It is Commissioner Petracco’s wish that we will always unite to remember the events of that tragic day and the loss that our country suffered.  Any questions can be directed to the Townships offices at (973) 284-4935.
