Frank’s battle station was an open-mount anti-aircraft gun. He served in the Pacific Theatre and saw action in five invasions and took part in two major battles, as well as raids on Japanese held islands. He went through the Panama Canal twice and crossed the International Date Line four times. His navy travels took him ¾ of the way around the world – from the China Sea to Italy. He earned 13 battle stars and did all of this by the age of 20. New York State Senator Terrence Murphy recently visited Frank and presented him with a Proclamation honoring his outstanding service to our country.
