The Virginius D. Mattia Memorial Committee has begun its 2019 selection process. The annual award is given to individuals or organizations who demonstrate the volunteer spirit of Dr. Mattia, former president of Hoffmann LaRoche. The award is presented based on the dedicated community service of volunteers to Nutley. Residence in Nutley, New Jersey is a prerequisite.

Nomination forms are available at the Nutley Library, the Parks and Recreation Building and Town Hall, but a letter with pertinent information about a nominee is also acceptable. Anyone previously nominated is eligible. Persons running for public office are not eligible during an election year. The deadline for submissions is March 1, 2019. They can be emailed directly to: [email protected] or sent by mail to Sandra Carella, 19 Dogwood Lane, Nutley, NJ 07110.
