Once called ‘The Most Beautiful Woman in the World,’ Italian film legend Gina Lollobrigida recently celebrated her 90th birthday. Humphrey Bogart, who starred with Lollobrigida in her first Hollywood film, Beat the Devil in 1953, once said of her, ‘She makes Marilyn Monroe look like Shirley Temple.’
Ms. Lollobrigida was finally recognized by the Chamber of Commerce with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for her accomplishments in cinema. She starred in several films from the 1950s, including ‘Trapeze,’ ‘Woman of Rome’ and ‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame.’ Gina came to Los Angeles to attend the ceremony.
With an extraordinary filmography that includes over 60 internationally acclaimed titles, she won numerous awards during her long career, including a Golden Globe for the movie ‘Come September,’ seven David di Donatello and two Silver Ribbons. She is also noted for her role in the movie ‘Bread, Love and Dreams’ by Luigi Comencini.
