La Salle Receives First NJBIZ ICON Award as Business Leader

Louis LaSalle, Senior Vice President of Corporate External Affairs for RWJBarnabas Health was recently named among the ICON Honors winners – NJBIZ’s first-ever awards recognizing New Jersey business leaders who are over the age of 60. This award honors their years of outstanding work in their industry and within the State of New Jersey. Mr. LaSalle and the other winners were honored during a special breakfast ceremony at the Palace at Somerset Park.

Mr. LaSalle joined Saint Barnabas Medical Center in 1990 as Vice President, External Affairs. With his indefatigable energy, Lou was the consummate volunteer and the go-to person for patients, families and the community. Fundraisers, golf tournaments, community health fairs, galas and the development of corporate alliances are all part of his daily work.

In addition to his 50 years of serving the Northern New Jersey Division of the American Heart Association, Mr. LaSalle chairs the Roseland Planning Board and is president of the Essex County Parks Foundation. He is also Vice President of the Livingston Chamber of Commerce and a member of numerous boards of local municipalities. He chaired the Essex County “Save Turtle Back Zoo” committee and served as a member of the board of directors of the American Red Cross, North Jersey Division.
