92nd San Gennaro Festival Opens in NYC with Italian Song Favorites

Johnny Mandolin (aka John Anello Jr.) will be opening the 92nd Annual Feast of San Gennaro again this year in Little Italy NYC on Thursday September 13th at 5:00 pm on the big stage located at Grand and Mott Streets in Little Italy NYC. Johnny will be playing favorite Italian songs, songs from his CDs and songs from his upcoming CD.

A trademark lawyer by profession, Johnny is also the founder and owner of two radio stations; Italian American Radio and City World Radio Network. He comes from a long line of musicians. His father “Doc” (John) Anello was a well-known musician and performer in NY and NJ and performed in California for many years at Disneyland with his big band “Doc Anello and the Swing Machine.” Johnny’s grandfather, Benny Anello, a jazz drummer, led a big band in Newark NJ in the 1920’s called the “Paradise Serenaders.” Johnny’s daughter, Marie Anello, is a NY Opera singer and performed with the New York City Opera and other companies and also sings jazz and cabaret.
