Jason Galante: 4th Generation at Galante Funeral Homes

Shortly after graduating from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Jason Galante began his apprenticeship with the family’s funeral homes. Now, upon his completion of all of the extensive board requirements, Jason has received his Funeral Directors License and has joined his father, Steven Galante, as well as his uncles and cousins in the family business.

The first Galante Funeral home was founded by Elvira I. Galante in 1934, Jason’s great-grandmother, in the Ironbound section of Newark, New Jersey. Soon after, her three sons – Frank, Richard and Joseph joined her and opened two additional locations in Union and Caldwell. In the 1970s, a third generation entered the business with Frank, Victor, Steven and Richard Jr. joining the family’s tradition of service.

In 2008, sons Frank R.  Galante Jr., Victor Galante II and Aunt Brenda became the fourth generation to join the business. Today, Jason and his family continue to appreciate the trust given to them by families in their time of need, providing a fine tradition of service, attention to detail and caring that has been the hallmark of the family’s history.
