IABF Annual Fundraiser

The Italian American Baseball Foundation (IABF) recently held its star-studded Second Annual Fundraiser at Carmine and Sons in Brooklyn, New York. The Foundation’s objective is to provide scholarships and financial assistance to student-athletes. Their mission is to bring awareness of the game to Italian youth through clinics, camps and education. Its future plans include developing a youth baseball academy in Italy.

Andrea Marcon, president of Federation of Italian Baseball & Softball (FIBS), welcomed a group of baseball VIP’s for the dinner and cocktail reception. In 2018, the IABF will send a delegation of former MLB players to Italy to hold youth clinics where they will teach the fundamentals of the game including hitting, fielding and pitching. It will also sponsor coaching clinics in several cities in association with the Federation of Italian Baseball & Softball (FIBS). Italian American baseball legends Bobby Valentine, John Franco and co -founder Frank Catalanotto serve on the board of the IABF.
