The New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) will present the hit theatrical comedy “Candice Guardino: Italian Bred” on Saturday, January 26, for two shows – 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm. Created, written by and starring Candice Guardino, Italian Bred is based on true-life events seen through the eyes of a little girl. The show has left audiences in stitches from Los Angeles to Chicago and Florida to New York.
Having written down everything her loving and outspoken grandmother ever uttered, Guardino slips in and out of multiple family characters as she cooks up a full meal of fun and laughter. In this solo show, she shares the stage with virtual cameos of Emmy winner Leslie Jordan, Mario Cantone, Steve Schirripa and Vic DiBitetto.
Guardino grew up singing, dancing and performing weekly recitals for her family in their living rooms. As a child, she wanted to follow in the footsteps of her idols Lily Tomlin, Carol Burnett and her great-uncle, the late actor Harry Guardino of TV, film and stage. Along with performing on stage and originating roles in the heart of Broadway, she has written screenplays, dramas, sketch comedies and sitcoms.
Tickets to see “Candice Guardino: Italian Bred” are available at NJPAC.org, by calling 888.GO.NJPAC (888.466.5722) or by visiting the NJPAC Box Office located at One Center Street in Newark, New Jersey.
