For the 22nd consecutive year, the International Chamber Ensemble is treating audiences in Rome to unforgettable musical evenings in the courtyard of one of the city’s most splendid examples of Renaissance architecture. Located just a short walk from Piazza Navona, the architectural and acoustical excellence of the Courtyard of Saint Ivo alla Sapienza creates the perfect setting for a marvelous musical evening under the summer stars. All concerts take place at 9:00 pm and will be performed by the orchestra of the International Chamber Ensemble under the direction of Francesco Carotenuto.

Upcoming performances include “Great Musicals…from Broadway to Trastevere and Pigalle.” The Orchestra performs excerpts from great musicals such as Rugantino, West Side Story, The Phantom of the Opera and The Sound of Music, on July 21 and 27, plus August 1 and 9.

“Mission Impossible…for hobbits, wizards warriors and pirates” will be presented on July 24, August 4, 7 and 10. Soloists and orchestra perform the soundtracks of some of cinema’s greatest hits, from Harry Potter and Pirates of the Caribbean, to the Lord of the Rings and Star Wars. It is a perfect musical evening for the whole family.

Performances on July 25, 31 and August 11 feature “From La vie en rose to Volare,” a salute to many of the most legendary French and Italian songs in a very unique symphonic interpretation performed by voice and orchestra. The Ensemble will present “The Great Beauty of the Classics,” a light and entertaining evening in the company of classical music’s most beautiful and eternal melodies on July 28, August 3 and 8.
