The Frick Collection of New York City recently had its 2019 presentation of the works of Luigi Valadier named Exhibition of the Year by Apollo magazine.
Luigi Valadier: Splendor in Eighteenth-Century Rome, was the first exhibition in the United States devoted to showcasing the incredibly influential Italian decorative artist. With an extraordinary eye for detail, Valadier designed and crafted whimsical, avant-garde and elegant pieces for patrons across Europe. The acclaimed exhibition was accompanied by the first substantial monograph published on the artist.
Inspired by the New York showing, an exhibition about Valadier is on view in Rome through February 2 at the Galleria Borghese.
