Free Workshop Is Available for Diabetics in Montclair

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), approximately 904,861 people in New Jersey, or 12% of the adult population, have diabetes. Given these statistics, it is surprising that less than half of people with diabetes have not had any form of education about their disease.

Quality Insights urges everyone with diabetes to take control of their condition through a free six-week workshop series. Meet others going through similar experiences and learn about diabetes, its risks, preventing complications, healthy eating, exercise and much more. Graduates from this program have lost weight, improved eating habits, started walking and got their blood sugar levels under control.

The free workshop series will be offered at the Montclair Public Library, 50 S. Fullerton Avenue in Montclair. Workshops take place from 10:30am to 12:30pm on Tuesdays, beginning on September 11 and continue through October 23. Healthy snacks will be available and free literature will be provided. To register, call Jarmaine Williams at (732) 955-8168. Quality Insights offers free diabetes education throughout New Jersey as part of Everyone with Diabetes Counts (EDC).
