Free Events at Manchester Library

The Manchester Branch of the Ocean County Library will host events that focus on education, entertainment and well-being throughout the month January, in its newly renovated meeting room.

On Friday, January 10 at 10:00 am, “Overdrive” will teach attendees how to download ebooks, audiobooks and magazines to their phones, tablets or computers through this free service. Bring your library card.

Monday, January 13 will feature “Pet Trusts” at 3:30 pm, where one can learn the legal steps to ensure that pets receive care when their owners can no longer provide it. Elder law attorney Christopher Olszak, from the firm of the Davison, Eastman, Munoz and Paone will conduct the discussion.

“Scam Awareness Workshop” takes place on Wednesday, January 15 at 2:00 pm, where you can learn ways to spot fraud and discover resources to lower your chances of being victimized. Presented by the Better Business Bureau.

On Wednesday, January 22, Dr. Vincent Giardina of Ocean Integrated Wellness Center, will present “Integrated Wellness” at 6:00 pm explaining the effects of food on the cells of the human body, in humorous, easy to understand terms.

In addition, the Chess Club meets at noon on Fridays, January 10, 17, 24, and 31; free movies are presented at 6:00 pm on Wednesdays, January 15 and 29 and “Brain Games for Adults” will he held on Tuesday, January 14 at 2:00 pm. No registration is required for these activities.
