Kings Food Market is celebrating the true taste of Italy with a traveling celebration of imported Italian products across select stores during the first two weekends in April. Guests can meet chefs from Italy, sample new and exciting products and taste this season’s Parmigiano Reggiano as stores will be cracking whole wheels to kick off the festivities.
“The Kings Festino Italiano is a celebration of authentic Italian cooking and we’re thrilled to welcome many of Italy’s most extraordinary companies into our stores to share their artisanal products with our customers,” said Stephen Corradini, Chief Merchandising Officer.
Tastings featured in stores will include a selection of the authentic Italian brands, with products ranging from olive oils and balsamic vinegars, to sauces, pastas and much more. The brands to be featured include – 1932 Pomodorian Sauce, Badia Coltibuono Olive Oil, Benedetto Pasta, Caffe Vergnano, Campanini Nano Rice, Cavalli Balsamic Vinegar, Denegris Balsamic Vinegars, Domenica Fiore EVOO, Illy Coffee, Kings Balsamic Vinegar, Le San Marzano Pasta Sauce, Le Veneziane Gluten-Free Pasta, Mandranova EVOO, Monini Olive Oils, Pastifico Pasta, Pellini Coffee Capsules, Posardi Chopped Tomatoes, Sacla Pasta Sauces, Ristorante Italiano, Scyavuru Sicilian Jams, Spuma Alpina Soda, Taggiasca EVOO and Tamia Olive Oil.
The demonstrations for each store will take place from 11:00 am until 5:00 pm and the kickoff is on Friday, April 5th at Kings Bedminster store, located at 450 US-202. At 12:00 pm, the wheel of Parmigiano Reggiano will be cracked open, with a cooking demonstrations that day by Chef Gustavo Caicedos, who will be preparing Campanini Black Rice and by Chef Raffaele Solinas, who will be making Pastificio Pasta.
The following day, Saturday, April 6th brings Festino Italiano’d demonstrations to the Kings at 778 Morris Turnpike in Short Hills, where 1932 Pomodorian Sauce and Benedetto Cavalieri Orecchiette Pasta will be featured. Once again, cooking demonstrations by Chef’s Caicedos and Solinas will tempt the palettes of everyone in attendance, plus a first of the season Halibut Fish Cutting.
The Kings location at 300 South Avenue in Garwood, New Jersey will host the demonstrations on Sunday, April 7th, where the noon hour brings the cracking on the wheel of Parmigiano Reggiano, with 1932 Pomodorian Sauce and Benedetto Cavalieri Orecchiette Pasta featured, along with Chef Raffaele Solinas, who will be preparing Pastificio Pasta.
The Chef will also be at Kings’ Cresskill location at 70 Union Avenue on Monday, April 8th, delighting everyone with Pastificio Pasta.
On Tuesday, April 9th Chef Gustavo Caicedos will be on hand, preparing Campanini Black Rice at the 265 Pompton Avenue, Verona location of Kings. He will be joined by Chef Raffaele Solinas, who will be making Pastificio Pasta.
Festino Italiano demonstrations will arrive at the 85 Godwin Avenue location in Midland Park on Saturday, April 13th and the 115 Hawkins Place Kings store in Boonton, New Jersey on Sunday, April 14th. Both days will feature the Parmigiano Reggiano cracking at noon, with 1932 Pomodorian Sauce and Benedetto Cavalieri Orecchiette Pasta. Chef Raffaele Solinas will prepare Pastificio Pasta and Davide Fara, maker of Spuma Alpina Soda will be on hand, along with Carlo Della Monache, producer of Tamia Olive Oil.
Finally, on Monday April 15th, Festino Italiano will visit the Kings location at 191 South Street in Morristown, featuring Pastificio Pasta with Chef Raffaele Solinas and Spuma Alpina with the soda’s maker Davide Fara.
