Deceased Veterans Honored Through a Bus Trip to Long Island

A Special Tribute to Our Veterans

As Memorial Day approaches, Cusimano & Russo and the John J. Healey Funeral Home will remember our veterans in a very special way. In appreciation of their service to our country, Cusimano & Russo and the John J. Healey Funeral Home, will be hosting a bus trip to Calverton National Cemetery. They understand that it may be difficult for you and your family members to make the long trip to Long Island to visit your loved ones, who during the course of their lives, put their country before themselves.

This bus trip will take place on Wednesday, May 30. At 8:00am, the bus will depart from Cusimano & Russo, 2005 West 6 Street in Brooklyn, with a return time expected at approximately 4:30pm. A special Memorial Day Ceremony will include guest speakers, patriotic songs, a ceremonial folding of the flag, doves of peace release and the ever-stirring playing of Taps for our fallen heroes. These events and more will be held at the Assembly area of the cemetery. This year, Cusimano & Russo and the John J. Healey Funeral Home will also honor those indigent veterans who have no family, after which family and friends will visit the graves of their loved ones.

A continental breakfast will be served on the bus on the way to the cemetery. A box lunch and snacks will be provided at Calverton National Cemetery. If you would like to attend, please contact the Cusimano & Russo and the John J. Healey Funeral Home at 718-372-1348 by May 22. Seating is limited, so call early to make a reservation. In addition, please provide the section and grave information of your loved ones when you call. If you do not know the location, please let the Cusimano & Russo and the John J. Healey Funeral Home know the deceaseds’ name and they will look up the location for you.
