New Haven – The St. Andrew Apostle Society will hold its 118th Annual Italian Festa near historic Wooster Square from June 21 through June 24. More than 100 years after the first immigrants from the Italian Amalfi coast settled in New Haven, their culture and traditions live on.  Admission is FREE!  Sensational tenor Micheal Castaldo and his La Vita dolce Band will perform live from on Sunday, June 24th. Throughout the feast will be Italian singers, strolling musician and accordionists to entertain. Feast hours are Thursday and Friday, 5-10pm; Saturday, 4-10pm and Sunday, 2:30-8pm. Essex County – Summer Music 2018 series is once again underway in Essex County Parks. Fireworks and New Jersey Symphony will be held on June 29 in Branch Brook Park in Newark at 7:30pm.  Garden State Radio will appear on July 6; The Infernos on July 20 and Jazz Under the Stars, all at Brookdale Park in Bloomfield, starting at 7:30pm. Morris Township – The Hanover Wind Symphony will present a free summer concert on June 27 at Memorial Junior School, 61 Highland Ave., Whippany, and on July 10 at Ginty field, 50 Woodland Ave. in Morris Township. Katonah – The celebratory, family-friendly Independence Day Fair in honor of America’s founding will be hosted by the Bedford-Armonk Rotary on July 4 (rain or shine) from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at John Jay Homestead in Northern Westchester. The Fair features readings of the Declaration of Independence, petting zoo, stilt walker, log cutting, 18th Century Equestrian Demonstration, pony rides, crafts, historic house tours, hayrides, live music, discovery centers, fishing, pet adoption, student art show, and food from the grill and other refreshments. The event offers a festive way for families to explore the National Historic Landmark home of Founding Father and America’s first Chief Justice John Jay. New York – NOIAW will host author Angela Sciddurlo Rago on June 26, from 6-8:30pm at the Azure Building, 333 East 91st Street. Yesterday’s Sky! is a novel about the saga of a poor family in a small town in southern Italy during the 1950s. Angela will present what the novel and characters mean to her and how it reflects life in any part of southern Italy in that period.  She will also read excerpts from the book and present several of her own paintings representing characters from the novel.
