“Somewhere South of Heaven”
Singer-pianist-songwriter from Philadelphia, John Primerano’s newest CD, “Somewhere South of Heaven” is receiving international airplay and with good reason. His easy listening album takes listeners on a journey through different eras and different cities. Close your eyes while his singing and keyboard playing will transport you back in time. The CD begins with “Maybe Someday,” a jaunty ballad that demonstrates John’s range and gift for infliction. It has a pure fifties as it would have been sung in the Rainbow Room in New York City. The beautiful standard “I Only Have Eyes for You,” is interpreted by Primerano with a forties swinging jazz beat that will have your feet tapping. The next track “Hold Me in Your Arms Again” is set to a Latin tempo and has the feel of an authentic Rhumba from a bygone era in Havana.
