Giovanni and Jennie Casiello recently celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary. Jennie was born and raised in Nutley, New Jersey and was one of seven children. She briefly worked at NJ Bell Telephone Company, but then became a mother and the quintessential homemaker. Giovanni was born in Garfield, New Jersey and was one of five children. His father passed away when he was a young teen and he worked from the age of 15 in the automotive industry. When he was 17, Giovanni had an opportunity to work at S & S Generator in Passaic and worked his way up to become owner and president of the company. Over the years, many of his family members worked for Giovanni as he built the business into one of the largest automotive rebuilders on the east coast, making the family’s American dream come true. He retired at age 66 and recently celebrated his 90th birthday. The couple was married in Holy Family Church on Brookline Avenue in Nutley and built their home on the same street where Jennie was born and raised. They are the parents of three children, John, David and Karen.
