Amici Opera Company

The Amici Opera Company has presented opera in the Philadelphia area for the past 21 years. Ralph Tudisco is the founder and company’s baritone. He also teaches the History of Opera at the Fort Washington campus of Temple University. Many of the operas presented by the Amici Opera Company have never been staged in the United States before. All the performers are trained singers who volunteer, often traveling great distances to do so.

Upcoming performances include: Sunday, September 8th at 2:30 pm, Donizetti’s IL Furioso. It will be staged at Dock Woods located at 275 Dock Drive, Lansdale, Pennsylvania, inside the Chapel. On Saturday, September 14th, the opera company will perform Donizetti’s Torquato Tasso for a 4:00 pm show at Redeemer U.M.C., 1128 Cottman Avenue in Lawndale, Philadelphia.

Bizet’s Carmen will be performed on Sunday, September 29, at 3:00, also at Redeemer U.M.C. The opera will be also be performed on Wednesday, October 2 at 6:00 pm, with a three-course dinner and opera at Francoluigi’s, 1549 South 13th Street in the Tasker Section of Philadelphia.
