Piscopo Named Saint Pio Foundation Honorary Advocate

In a newly released video, famed entertainer Joe Piscopo announced acceptance of his new role as Honorary Advocate of and endorsement of the Saint Pio Foundation, a New York-based charitable organization dedicated to creating awareness of Saint Pio of Pietrelcina, better known as Padre Pio. In the video, Joe spoke of his personal devotion to the Catholic saint and related a story of a meeting between Padre Pio and his father, Captain Joseph P. Piscopo, while the latter was serving in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II.

Speaking of Mr. Piscopo, the president of the Saint Pio Foundation, Luciano Lamonarca, said, “I am very grateful that Joe Piscopo has accepted our invitation to become an Honorary Advocate of the Saint Pio Foundation. Undoubtedly, his own family’s experience in having met Padre Pio and his personal affection for him will inspire many who seek a deeper meaning in life.”

In endorsing the Saint Pio Foundation, Piscopo joins other well-known entertainment personalities, political figures, prominent scientists and business leaders, who include Joe Mantegna, Robert Davi, Tony Lo Bianco, Gary Sinise, Franc D’Ambrosio, Senator Rick Santorum, Lee Curreri, Pennsylvania State Treasurer Joe Torsella and eminent scientist Dr. Robert C. Gallo.
