2018 Biondi Couple Celebrates 60th Wedding Anniversary

On April 19, 1958, Anthony and Michelina “Mickey” Biondi (nee Rossi) tied the knot in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in the Ironbound section of Newark, New Jersey. After a reception at the Essex House, also in Newark, the couple left for a honeymoon in Florida. The family grew with the arrival of their children, Anthony, Jr. and Ann Marie and later with daughter-in-law Lisa, son-in-law Jude Belas and their grandchildren, Julianna Lucia and Jude Anthony Belas.

Family has always been central to the Biondi family. Anthony’s parents, Alfred and Anna, began the Biondi Funeral Home in 1941 on Jefferson Avenue in Newark. Unfortunately, Anna Biondi became ill and passed away in 1952 at the young age of 37. Alfred Biondi, together with his son, Anthony Sr. continued to operate the funeral home until Alfred’s untimely death in 1963.

In 1968, Anthony A. Biondi Sr. and his wife, Mickey, opened the Biondi Funeral Home of Nutley at 540 Franklin Avenue. The Newark funeral home was consolidated into the Nutley location in 1974.

As the years passed and the need for their services in the community increased, the Nutley location was completely remodeled and redecorated. The third generation to enter the family business, Anthony A. Biondi Jr., became licensed in 1988 and is the manager with the still family-owned and operated business. The entire Biondi family wanted to express their deepest admiration, thanks and love to their parents, whose continued commitment to each other, their children and grandchildren, is a source of inspiration to everyone. A family celebration will take place in May at Lunello’s Restaurant in Cedar Grove, New Jersey.

Buon anniversario e augurandoti molti altri anni di felicità insieme.
