Today, not in Camelot but in the town of Chiusdino, in the region of Tuscany, there does exist such a sight. It seems that a Knight by the name of Galgano Guidotti had two identical visions in which the Archangel Michael and the 12 Apostles spoke to him at the same place each time. He marked the spot with a cross and placed the sword in the ground with only its handle protruding. According to legend, the ground around the sword immediately hardened and no one has ever been able to budge it since the 12th century. Posthumously, Guidotti was made the first Saint, who the Catholic Church canonized in a formal ceremony.
