How Tony Siragusa Helps Save Underprivileged Kids

Anthony “Tony” Siragusa nicknamed “Goose,” is a former National Football League Defensive Tackle who spent 12 seasons with the Indianapolis Colts and the Baltimore Ravens, playing from 1990 through 2002.  He also worked for FOX Sports from 2003 through 2016 as an NFL Football Analyst. In 2016, Tony was honored by the Maxwell Football Club and received the award for Excellence in Sports Broadcasting. In addition, he hosted the home renovation program “Man Caves” on the DIY Network.

Tony attended David Brearley Regional High School in Kenilworth, New Jersey, graduating in 1985. In addition to the numerous honors Tony received for football, he also excelled in wrestling where he became State Wrestling Champion with a 97-1 career record. He was also inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame in 2001. Upon graduation, he attended the University of Pittsburgh on full scholarship. He earned All-American Honors at Pitt before signing with the Indianapolis Colts (1990-1996) to begin his professional football career. Tony then followed the franchise to Baltimore with the Ravens (1997-2002). In 2000, Tony helped lead the Ravens to the team’s first Super Bowl title in franchise history on a defense considered the best to ever play the game.

Tony is the founder of the Tony Siragusa Foundation, an organization aimed at helping underprivileged kids, supporting the Make-A-Wish Foundation and other various charities. To date, his foundation has donated over two million dollars. Additionally, along with his two brothers, Peter and Elio, the three re-opened the Italian American Association in Kenilworth to raise funds for needy children.

In 2013, out of a concern for men with prostate cancer, he began appearing in an ad campaign for men saying, “I decided to shoot the commercial and bring a little bit of lightness to the problem. After I did the commercial, you wouldn’t believe the response.”

Tony is a great supporter of our military forces and was recognized by the Navy Seal Teams for his unwavering and loyalty to them. In continued support, Tony is an owner in Salute American Vodka. For every bottle purchased, $1 is donated to the veterans of our country. He also proudly stands for our National Anthem.

He has many interests in his life. He currently stays busy with his other business endeavors which include a partnership in Titan Aviation and owner of Tiff’s Restaurants. Also an author, Tony wrote “Goose…The Outrageous Life and Times of a Football Guy.”

More than anything, family means everything to Tony. He has been married for 23 years to his high school sweetheart Kathy. The couple has three children, Samantha, 21, Anthony, 19 and Ava, 17.
