Temperature Affects Memory

1995285475_1388921724ROME – According to new research by Italian scientists, regulating the thermostat could be the key to better memory.

A study by researchers Lorenza Colzato and Roberta Sellaro published in Psychological Research magazine found that people memorize information 10% better while working in a room at their favorite temperature.

“Human beings are highly influenced by climate. For example, existing research shows cognition during complex tasks improves in cold temperatures,” Colzato explained. “Our study shows that temperature can enhance our cognitive powers, efficiency and productivity.”
