Life Expectancy Rises

Life expectancy in Italy is increasing and Italians also place seventh in the world for the longest lives without disability, according to a study by the Global Burden of Disease.

Life expectancy in Italy has increased from 1990 to 2013 for men by 5.9 years and by 4.4 years for women. Life expectancy in good health has increased by four years and six months for men and by three years and three months for women. In general women still live longer than men, to 84.6 years compared to 79.5 years for men.
